Shibuya is always cooking something up in the Motherland of VIP cars. Currently he is constructing the official [LBERTY-VIP] Japan garage where he keeps 2 of 3 VIP cars stored. The graffiti themed shop is coming along quite nice and we’re sharing a sneak peak of the up and coming hot spot.

The black, white, and purp theme is a reflection of his own personal builds. We’re excited for him as a team and a few of the U.S. members plan to make a visit in the near future.. #inlibertywetrust

Newest Liberty-West Prospect: Roger H.

Last weekend we had a mini BBQ to officially welcome our newest prospect Roger H.  We usually don’t introduce prospects until they earn their plate, but Roger is an exception.  He’s shown his passion for building VIP cars from the first day we met him and has tons of potential to help build Liberty West and the WestCoast VIP scene as a whole.  He’s currently driving a 2003 Lexus LS430 nicely fitted on Version 2 VSxx’s.

There’s much more to this car than meets the eye and we’ve included Roger’s current mod list at the bottom.  He’s got several plans going on right now, including wider lips and a widebody kit as well. He didn’t have any of these plans when we first met him but told us, “Liberty gave me inspiration. Liberty got me motivated.  It was just a feeling”. Welcome Roger and we will see you at the end of the tunnel.

LA NIGHTS: Hollow Squad Garage x Liberty-VIP x Emil Garcia

This past weekend 7/1/17 was our first WestCoast BLACK-VIP Meet presented by [LIBERTY-VIP], Supreme Society, Royal Flush Crew, and Karuma Limited.  It was a huge success and we look forward to hosting the next one. At the meet, we caught up with some friends from Hollow Squad Garage (@hollowsquadgarage) and Emil Garcia Photography  (@emilgarciaphoto) where we got some footage in Downtown LA.  It’s always a good time when we get to collab with other car enthusiasts with the same passion, just different styles.

We can appreciate the work they put into their cars, like “Mark P”‘s  bagged R32 Turbo Volkswagen pushing 900+ HP.  Another buddy (@frvnkmartin), who drives a slammed Miata was able to snap some candid photos during the video shoot.  Around 1:00 am the LAPD came by and asked, “Whose red bimmer is that?” When no one replied, he added “I like it” (owner: @collin_padilla). The cops were cool enough to get in our video, until we were eventually kicked out by another set of officers about an hour later.  It was a successful night to say the least, as these are the exact types of nights that we live for. Welcome new plate holder: Manuel “Jay” Perez

  • We would like to congratulate our latest plate holder from Northern California, “Jay” Perez.  Jay was born and raised from the island of Guam (a neighboring country to Hawaii). At  a young age, he watched his father build and paint cars straight out of their garage. Inevitably, it became his passion but not until he moved to California where the VIP scene was tangibly introduced through Josh “Fine Wine” Moua.  From the forum days, to instagram, and now facebook, Jay has been following us over the years and wanted to put his passion to the test.  He’s also spent a lot of time in the car scene promoting his clothing line,  “RICHNESS BRAND”.
  •  Although Jay seems to be more on the quiet side, he knew exactly what he wanted and and humbly did so for about a year.  He knew that [LIBERTY] wasn’t just something you join, but a long term commitment even after he’s out of the car scene (sorry, we may have not mentioned that).  We can go on and on about how [LIBERTY] is different from other crews, but at the end of the day its not.  We are all here with the same agenda and that is to keep whatever is left of the car scene alive.
  •  What does make us stand out as a group, however, is that [LIBERTY] shows respect to all types of car builds and car crews, which seems to be lacking with other groups…because at the end of the day somebody put their time/effort/money into creating something that they themselves enjoy. That’s how [LIBERTY] was built on the East Coast, and that’s how it will stay.  Nonetheless, the Bay area is populated with outstandingly built cars and Jay is one of them. Jay earned his plate at his most recent showcase during Wekfest San Jose, which was a dope all around show. We look forward to what he has planned in the near future!

“Black Rose”- Aidan’s Lexus IS300

There has been some recent controversy about whether vipstyled cars should be its on category. Those who know [LIBERTY] can agree that vipstyled cars can be executed just as well as your typical VIP sedan, if not better.  It actually might even take a little bit more vision and customized work, as there are not as many VIP parts produced.  OG Plate member Aidan B. is a prime example of this.

He recently redid his Lexus IS300 and did a lot of unseen work to make his Luxury Abstract wheels fit perfectly on his static ride.  Don’t get us wrong, we love the aggressive fender work especially the GT-VIP style approach.  But we also appreciate the clean elegant look, which [LIBERTY] was originally based off of. He’s holding our Canada Chapter down strong and continues to do so with this sleek build.  Catch his IS300 up close and personal with photographs from Still Steezy @stillsteezy. Q & A : What got you (Aidan) into [Liberty-VIP]?
The first VIP car i saw was, Brett Lyver’s UCF20.  Being a local to me and just buying my IS300, I went to a local Lexus meet and that was where I met Brett.  He showed me more about what the VIP culture and that is what got me into the scene.With first seeing Brett’s car, I fell in love with the scene and learnt more about Liberty VIP.  This was about 8 years ago when there weren’t many Canadians other than Brett that were Official Liberty Plate holders.  I wanted to build a VIP car but did not want to sell the IS300.  The IS300 was bought because it still had a sporty vibe at the time with a slight bit of luxury.  I couldn’t sell the car because of the sentimental attachmet I have with it; purchasing it was the last thing my dad and I did before he passed away.

So I started to research about VIP Style vs VIP Traditional builds.  As there was only 1 person who attempted to do VIP Style IS300 (Solo) before me, I thought I would try it as well.  I saw, in order to attempt a VIP Style build, I need to encompass the whole build around VIP Styling.  If i did more GT style, it would confuse the build and thus not make it VIP styled anymore.  The more research I did, including going on VIP Style Cars web site, and the Liberty VIP forum, I became friends with more and more of the Liberty VIP Team.

Over time, as the car progressed, my ties with the team became closer and I wanted to show my car in representation of Liberty, along side of Brett.  As every other member does today, it took time and patience; but getting into Liberty was not solely due to the car, it was the journey with those who helped me, and the ties I made with the crew along the way.  No matter the distance members are around the world, we all still joke about the same stuff and share the same passion; while helping one another progress in whatever aspirations we choose (whether it be automotive or not).

ProStance :: T-demand x Central Pine :: SoCal

T-Demand and Central Pine threw their first USDM-VIP Event at K-1 speed in Anaheim, CA this past weekend.  The lot was pretty much full with local vendors advertising their businesses and a bumpin’ DJ booth by the entrance.  Central Pine had their Toyota Crown, which they debuted at the show after being brought from Texas. The cool part was seeing the SoCal VIP community coming together, even with builds in the “under construction” phases.

Some of the other reputable clubs/brands/shops at the show included:  Top Ups, PureLex, Pure-VIP, Infinitewerks, Endless Projects, Crown VIP, Simply Fresh, and Karuma Limited.  One thing we especially liked was when an award was announced, the winner drove their car to the front where they were given the trophy.  Spectators were able to match the car with the driver.

Welcome new plate member: Tyler Collins!

This past weekend at Sumo Speed’s Springfest-Virginia, we saw a lot of familiar faces finally park together.  Along with that, Tyler Collin’s earned his official Liberty Euro plate.  He has been prospecting since last year, making his first show appearance at Tuner Evo 2016.  He was recruited by Ramon Ramirez before Ramon was deployed off to Florida.  This allowed for the DMV Chapter to thrive on its own.

Since then, Tyler has been keeping up with the club remaining active on our Facebook group and chats. He also helped organize this year’s Springfest, which despite the few speed bumps, ended up being a great turn out. Tyler has plans to either continue with this build, or start with a newer model chassis.  Either way, he earned his keep with the Club and we can’t wait to see what he comes up with next.

Wekfest: Long Beach, California

Wekfest Long Beach 2017 was quite a show for Southern California.  It was a well put together event, s/o to Junior and the rest of the Wekfest crew for an awesome show! The quality of cars is top notch as always, but there were some builds that just met the bare minimum requirements of bags and wheels. Time to step up people!

The $30 parking for spectators and $20 entry fee made the foot traffic much less than last year as well, otherwise it was a good turnout.  This time we have photos coming from Bryan Arangorin/Renise Sia aka @ay_nak0/@__corageous.  We appreciate the media coverage and look forward to working with them more in the future!


Continuing on, congrats to Albert aka “The Senator” with his 3rd Gen GS taking home BEST LEXUS.  His car was built from the help of Autofashion, Lexon Japan, and AGwheels.  His original VIP-styled sedan has turned VIP-GT, which seems to be the new wave for the scene. A feature of Al’s GS will be coming soon.


Johnny aka “Frankenstein” also debuted his 2nd Gen LS400 on Kbreak wheels with widebody metal fabrication, shaved door handles, and custom LED trunk setup.  It was great to see his car out and about again! Liberty-VIP’s next show attendance will be ProStance hosted by T-demand/Central Pine and Spocom in Anaheim so look out for that!
